Vice President,
Communications, Partnerships & Primary Care Strategy
Jamie Braman joined Island Health in June 2017. In his role, Jamie serves as a key strategist working closely with senior leadership and key partners identifying communications and engagement opportunities and risks, and provides strategic direction on all matters that impact corporate reputation and standing within the health sector and in the public sphere. Jamie advises the executive team and board of directors on the advancement of organizational-level strategic partnerships, and leads and coordinates partnerships with communities and community organizations to promote health and wellness. He also provides organizational leadership for implementation of primary care strategy, collaborating with external and internal partners, within the context of the larger Ministry of Health strategy.
Jamie joined Island Health from Interior Health where he most recently served as Vice President, Communications & Public Engagement. Prior to his appointment as Vice President, Jamie served four years as Director of Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the President & CEO at Interior Health. Before joining Interior Health, Jamie lived on Vancouver Island for fifteen years. During that time he worked in the Legislative Assembly, including ten years as chief of staff to cabinet ministers — including successive Ministers of Health.
Jamie holds a Masters of Arts in Leadership (Health Specialization) from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Victoria.
