Krista joined Island Health as Vice President, Knowledge, Practice and Chief Nurse Executive. She formerly held the position of Chief Health Operations Officer and Chief Nursing Officer with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
Krista has expressed that as a Metis woman, family and community are at the heart of what matters to her. She brings a well balanced background that includes operational leadership with responsibility for hospitals and acute care, and leading local, regional and provincial level change as seen in the health system transformation in Manitoba focused on positive patient outcomes and staff experience.
She has over 20 years of progressive experience from front line nursing, to consulting and advancing nursing practice, to working with academic, union and regulatory bodies and leading collaborative practice in hospitals, communities and long term care. Krista holds a Master’s in Science Administration focused on Health Services Administration and a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
