Medical conditions appropriately treated in Urgent Care

  • Immediate assessment and treatment for conditions that require same-day treatment
  • Assessment and stabilization for transfer to hospital, if needed
  • The Centre will be able to care for approximately 75% of patients who might typically visit an Emergency Department and not need to be admitted

Primary Care

  • Patients can register on a wait list for a primary care provider in the Oceanside Area. Register today.
  • Oceanside Primary Care Clinic intakes patients off of the local registry when able 
  • Patients of the Oceanside Health Centre’s Primary Care practice can get a same-day appointment for urgent concerns by calling before noon
  • Primary care services are linked to all other programs at the Oceanside Health Centre, to ensure patient care and follow-up is coordinated 

Medical Imaging

  • X-ray, Ultrasound, Diagnostic Mammography and Bone Density
  • Ultrasound, Diagnostic Mammography and Bone Density are booked appointments only
  • Please note that X-ray are walk-ins
  • A requisition from a physician or nurse practitioner is required for all diagnostic tests

Temporary note regarding X-ray services at Oceanside Health Centre

Due to technical issues, Oceanside Health Centre is temporarily utilizing portable X-ray machines. The portable machines can complete the following exams:

  • Chest
  • Ribs (dependent on body size)
  • Sinuses/facial bones/skull
  • Upright abdomen (dependent on body size)
  • Shoulder, scapula, clavicle, humerus, elbow, forearm, hand, wrist, scaphoid, finger
  • Knees (excluding osteoarthritis, pre-surgical, post surgical or orthopedic consult)
  • Tibia/fibula, ankle, foot supine only (excluding exams where weight bearing should be done, e.g. pre-surgical, post surgical or orthopedic consult)

To ensure high-quality, accurate diagnostics, exams not noted above must be completed at an alternate location while the portable machines are in use at Oceanside Health Centre.

  • Care team providers deliver services in people’s homes, in group settings and in office settings.

Specialty Services

  • The Oceanside Health Centre offers services Monday to Friday for:
    • Adults with moderate to severe mental health diagnoses
    • Seniors over age 65 needing specialized assessment and or treatment related to complex health conditions and illnesses
    • Individuals with diabetes on insulin pumps and women with gestational diabetes
    • Patients consulting a specialist outside of Oceanside using telehealth services
  • Specialty services include mental health walk-in service

Environmental Health

Services to promote and safeguard public health, including protection from environmental and other health hazards.
