School Age Rehab Support Services

The Rehab Support Services team provides short-term intensive occupational and physical therapy rehabilitation for children and youth with complex medical, developmental, and/or post-operative needs.

The service is family-centered and provides support during the transition from hospital to home. The service is available for children and youth living in the Greater Victoria area, who are medically stable, have demonstrated rehabilitation potential, motivation, and a willingness to participate. Involvement with this program is typically 0-3 months.

Services

  • OT & PT with consultation with nursing, Speech Language Pathologist, dietitian and/or social work as needed
  • assesses children with complex physical difficulties requiring the input of an  interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
  • assists with discharge planning from acute and community programs to the School Age Therapy Program
