Hornby Island Medical Clinic provides primary health care services to the residents of Hornby Island. This includes care for illness and injury, chronic disease management, palliative care and preventative care.
The clinic team is comprised of Administrative Clerk, Remote Certified Registered Nursing, Physician, and Primary Care Network resources of Social Work, Dietician, Pharmacist and Mental Health Consultant. These roles support team-based care services at this Clinic. Services are available by appointment.
Urgent Care Services
This is not a walk-in clinic. During clinic hours for urgent medical issues due to injury or illness please phone clinic for eligibility of booking. This clinic supports ambulatory outpatient services.
After Hours: A Nurse or Physician will be on-call for urgent care after hours, seven days a week.
Child Health Clinics
We offer Child Health Clinics, which includes infant immunization and assessment, family coaching, prenatal teaching and school immunizations provided by a Public Health Nurse. The clinic is offered one Friday monthly. Home visits can also be offered.

Laboratory services are offered by Lifelabs on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly on-site.
BC Ambulance Service and Hornby Island Fire Rescue provide emergency care via 9-1-1 emergency services.
BCEHS Community Paramedicine Service is available.
Health advice from registered nurses can be accessed 24/7 by calling HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, as well as Pharmacist Services from 5 p.m. – 9 a.m.
Vancouver Island Crisis line available 24/7 for crisis intervention, information and resources 1‑888‑494‑3888.
