The Comox Valley Nursing Centre is a service within Island Health’s Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease management portfolio and is located in Courtenay, British Columbia. We believe in partnerships between clients, family and health care professionals.

Health Connections Clinic
Health Connections Clinic at the Comox Valley Nursing Centre is team-based primary health care providing care for Comox Valley residents who don't have a regular family doctor.
We provide team-based care for people with complex medical and/or socio-economic needs. These could include mental illness, substance abuse. homelessness, poverty, and chronic disease.
We are family doctors, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses working with you and other healthcare providers to best support your health needs.
To access Health Connections Clinic:
- Call or drop-in to book an initial intake appointment with a primary care nurse
- Get referred by an agency
- Call or drop-in to book follow up appointments
Positive Wellness North Island (HIV/Hep B&C)
We are a team of health care professionals working in association with your family physician/nurse practitioner and HIV specialist. We provide an integrated service of prevention, education, treatment and support related to HIV and viral hepatitis.

This support group aims to help people living with chronic pain improve their lives through education, encouragement, and fellowship.

Chronic Pain Education Series
A five-week consecutive program (2 hours each session) designed to assist people in exploring self-management strategies to enhance the quality of their lives. This program is run three times per year.
Jan 21 – Feb 25 Registration opens January 3, 2020
Apr 29 – Jun 3 Registration opens April 8, 2020
Sept 16 – Oct 21 Registration opens August 26, 2020
Super 6 Exercise Program
A six week consecutive program with the focus on increasing strength, endurance and general fitness level. The Super 6 Exercise Program is run by a kinesiologist to re-introduce chronic pain clients to exercise.

Apr 23 – Jun 4 Registration opens April 2, 2020
Sept 24 – Nov 5 Registration opens Sept 3, 2020
Facilitated by a Registered Clinical Therapist, this drop-in class meets weekly on Thursdays from 1:15 - 2:15 p.m. to learn and practice relaxation skills.
Drop-in, no registration required.
COPD Support Group
Third Wednesday of the month
1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Meeting includes guest speakers, information, support and exercise for people with COPD and their families - in partnership with BC Lung Association.

4 times per year (call centre for date and time)

This presentation is open to anyone who is living with osteoporosis and would like to learn how to improve quality of life.
