Lady Minto / Gulf Islands Hospital

This hospital Emergency Department is open 24/7 for life-threatening or serious health concerns. Patients are seen based on the urgency of their condition, not the order they arrive.

How to Get Care at This Hospital

If you or someone else is in danger or needs urgent medical help, call 9-1-1 right away.

You can also come directly to the Emergency Department. When you arrive, a nurse will check how urgent your condition is. The most serious cases are treated first.

Parking

Parking lot improvements at Lady Minto Hospital

Island Health is conducting a phased repaving project to the staff and public parking lot as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the quality of services at Lady Minto Hospital.

  • Phase 1: From September 22 – October 1, 2025, the yellow portion of the parking lot will be closed to all traffic.

  • Phase 2: From October 2 – 20, 2025, the purple portion of the parking lot will be closed to all traffic.

  • Phase 3: From October 20 – 31, 2025, the entire parking lot will be closed to all traffic.

During construction, some temporary parking (10 spaces) will be available next to the helicopter landing pad, and two – three annex client only spots will be available.  While efforts are being made to mitigate the impacts, patients, visitors and staff/medical staff should add extra time when travelling to Lady Minto Hospital.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as this important work is carried out.
