Eagle Rock Heights is a six-resident licensed care facility in Saanich that provides services to young adults with mental health conditions. The program’s goal is to assist and encourage residents in developing the skills necessary for independent living within the community. Eagle Rock Heights is staffed for 24/7 care with mental health workers and clinical staff.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Individuals are aged 19 to 35 and require 24-hour care.
  • The primary care need is related to a diagnosis of severe and ongoing mental illness.
  • All substance use, including alcohol and cannabis, is discouraged and substances are not permitted on site.
  • Clients must be willing to actively participate in rehabilitation and recovery plans.
  • Completed Tuberculosis (TB) screening/testing.

  • If you or someone you care for are connected to a Mental Health and Substance Use team at Island Health, please ask about referral to this program. 
  • Your referring clinician and MHSU team will advise on the care option most suited to your needs.
Cost

Clients pay a per-diem (daily fee). The fee is determined based on client income.

Stay

Length of stay and levels of care depend on the resident needs, with the goal of independent living within two years.

Details

Eagle Rock Heights is a two-story licensed care facility with six private bedrooms and four shared bathrooms. The bedrooms have an average closet with a locking safe, a bed, a stand-up dresser and a bedside table. Residents may bring their own television, computer, small items, pillows and bed linens. 

The first floor has a kitchen, living room, and dining area to accommodate six people. Laundry facilities are located in the basement, and outdoor spaces include a garden and a small yard. There is a phone line for residents for local calls.

Residents receive three meals and two snacks daily. They are required to participate in preparing their own breakfast and are each assigned one night a week to prepare dinner for the other residents, with staff support. All residents are expected to participate in household chores.
