The facility has 40 inpatient beds and is associated with an Assertive Community Treatment service that follows a further 75 clients in the community.
Seven Oaks provides individualized treatment based on clinical best practices and employs psychosocial rehabilitation approaches using a combination of modeling, support, encouragement, education, vocational readiness training and independent living skills acquisition and enhancement in order to allow each resident to achieve his or her maximum independent functioning and ongoing success in the community.
Seven Oaks is part of Island Health’s Adult Tertiary Mental Health program which also includes services available at Cowichan Lodge Adult Tertiary in Duncan, BC.
Access Services
- referrals for admission come regionally from hospital or community based mental health teams through the Regional Adult Tertiary Central Access using the Pathways MHSU referral system
- community-based referrals can be made through local Island Health mental health services
- the Regional Tertiary Utilization Committee reviews all regional referrals – regions prioritize referrals for allocated beds for those clients whose needs can be safely met
