Children 0-11 years of age
To request access to a child's MyHealth account, you must have your own active MyHealth account. From there, you can request access to someone else’s account.
Individuals between 12-18 years of age
If you are between 12 and 18 years of age, you can request your own MyHealth account with the support of a doctor or nurse practitioner. Complete and submit the Adolescent Enrollment Form to get set up.
Individuals 19 years of age and older
Individuals 19 years and older can sign up for MyHealth online, by phone or in-person at Island Health Laboratory and Medical Imaging locations, or the main admitting desk at any of our hospitals.
How to Enroll by Phone
Enroll in MyHealth by calling the MyHealth Virtual Enrollment Line at 1-844-844-2219, available Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Have your valid BC Services Card ready.
How to Enroll Online
Enrolling in MyHealth online is a three-step process which includes verifying your identity with BC Services Card. This process ensures your MyHealth account can only be activated by you and no one else. If you already have your identity verified through BC Services Card, go directly to Step 2.
Step 1: Set-Up your Mobile BC Services Card
How to verify your identity with a photo BC Services Card
You will need:
- A valid photo BC Services Card
- A computer AND a mobile device (such as Android phone or Apple iPhone) or a tablet, each with a camera, microphone, speaker and secure internet connection.
- To download the BC Services Card app on your mobile device; get it on Google Play or the App Store.
To set-up your mobile BC Services Card:
From a computer, mobile device or tablet connected to the internet, visit getmyhealth.islandhealth.ca or enter the URL into your web browser. The Enroll in MyHealth window appears.
Click on the Get set up option and complete the required steps to set-up your BC Services Card account.
To register for a BC Services Card account, you will need to have your identity verified by a Government Identity Verification Agent during their business hours (Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) either through a video call or video submission from your smartphone*.

The BC Services Card is a provincial identity validation system that can be used to access many provincial and federal systems, including MyHealth. For more information or assistance setting up your account, visit www.gov.bc.ca/bcservicescard or contact 1-888-356-2471, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., excluding stat holidays.
Step 2: Complete the MyHealth Online Enrollment Form
From a computer, mobile device or tablet connected to the Internet, visit getmyhealth.islandhealth.ca or type the URL into your web browser. The Enroll in MyHealth window appears.
Select the option 'Use a mobile card'. A pairing code displays on the screen.
Open the BC Services Card application installed on your mobile device or tablet and enter the pairing code.
Once you have entered the pairing code, your web browser will redirect you to the next screen to confirm your personal information.
Click the Continue button. The MyHealth enrollment form appears. Complete all the required fields and click Submit Form.
Step 3: Confirm Your Account
You will receive an email invitation to complete your enrollment in MyHealth. Click the ‘Accept Invitation to MyHealth’ link in the email to confirm your account. If you do not receive your MyHealth invitation email within 24 hours of your virtual enrollment, call the MyHealth Help Desk at 1-800-249-1024.
