Call4Care

Call4Care

Call4Care is our community call bell. It supports direct two-way voice communications between patients and their care teams. The device can be used for unplanned care needs. Currently, a few Island Health programs support patients in community environments using Call4care.

This technology is currently used in several programs. For example:

Hospital at Home (HaH)

The HaH program enables eligible patients to receive hospital-level care at home. The program supports patients with daily in-home visits. It also uses virtual care technologies to support care needs around the clock. Call4Care is one technology being used to enable direct 2-way voice communication with the care team. This supports the team to communicate easily with their patients.

Enablement and Planning Suites (STEPS)

Island Health STEPS program is supporting patients who are ready to leave hospital but may need some additional assistance to do so safely. While in the program, STEPS provides 24-hour support. A team checks on clients regularly and assists in their recovery. Call4Care allows patients to connect directly to their care team if they need help between visits.
