Tertiary Psychiatric Care

Tertiary psychiatric care provides the highest level of care available in Island Health for adults and seniors with significant and persistent mental health concerns who require highly intensive supports beyond what community services can offer.

Adult

Adult tertiary psychiatric care offers individual care plans centered around psychosocial rehabilitation using support, encouragement and education to help clients achieve wellness and transition to more independent living.

Senior

Senior tertiary psychiatric care supports those with severe neurocognitive impairment through individual care plans and by adjusting the environment and medical care to meet unique needs with the goal to transition clients to a less intensive level of care.
