Tertiary Care

Mental Health Tertiary Care provides highly specialized care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness whose care needs are beyond what can be supported by community programs. Tertiary care facilities provide individualized treatment based on psychosocial rehabilitation using a combination of modelling, support, encouragement and education to achieve maximum independence.

There are three regional adult mental health tertiary care facilities on Vancouver Island.
