Tertiary psychiatric care is for adults and seniors with serious and ongoing mental illness who need more help than community programs can provide.
These facilities offer personalized treatment focused on psychosocial rehabilitation, using support, encouragement and education to help individuals become as independent as possible.
Seniors tertiary psychiatric care is about providing support to seniors with cognitive impairment, meeting them where they are in their journey. We do this by making changes to their environment and medical care.
Our goal is to understand client needs and create a care plan that reduces barriers and helps clients move to a less intensive level of care.
Staff, in partnership with the client and their families, work hard to minimize client triggers and increase positive engagement. Most clients go into a long-term care home within their community and are not followed by a mental health team.
