Referrals to Mental Health and Substance use services can be made by a family doctor or Nurse Practitioner. Self-Referrals are also accepted by phone.
Adult Short-term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT)
ASTAT offers assessment and short-term individual and group counselling to adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use problems.
Case management ensures on-going support for those experiencing serious and persistent mental health concerns. Case management includes assessment in hospital and community, medication management and assistance with managing activities for of daily living.
Primary Care Social Work
Our Social Worker offers support for those with challenging and/or complex health needs in partnership with your general practitioner and provides assistance with psycho-social issues related to mental health and substance use.
Our Nurse Practitioner provides health care for those with mental health issues without a Primary Care Provider like a physician or Nurse Practitioner
Psychiatry provides assessment, treatment, and medication review for those with significant mental health concerns.
Urgent Crisis Intervention
Crisis support assessment, referral and follow-up is available through Lady Minto Hospital Emergency room from 8:30am to 4:30 provided by our Mental Health Nurse.
After Hours Emergency Mental Health is available at Lady Minto Hospital Emergency Room 4:30pm to midnight every evening and statutory holidays. Support is also available by calling Vancouver Island Crisis Line at 1-888-494-3888.
