Coastal Sage Healing House is a safe place in Victoria for women and non-binary individuals experiencing substance use challenges. We provide a supportive environment for recovery with wrap-around services that are culturally appropriate and trauma-informed.
Program activities include group and individual counselling, mindfulness, life skills and relapse prevention. Staff work with individuals to create a care plan that addresses substance use, social relationships, as well as physical, cultural and mental health needs. Participants stay up to 90 days.
Participants who complete the program can join a virtual alumni group to support community integration.

Referral process
- Referral from a health care provider is required.
- External health care professionals must complete a referral package with the client and fax to 250-519-1896.
- If you don’t have a fax machine, please contact us at treatmentcentres@islandhealth.ca and we will arrange for a secure file transfer.
- Internal Island Health clinicians must complete a referral package with the client. Use your Island Health employee email to send complete packages to treatmentcentres@islandhealth.ca.
- The regional triage committee reviews applications for eligibility and priority. Program staff confirm acceptance or declination with the referring health care professional.

- Building features

The two-storey building is a house located in Victoria. It offers six individual rooms, main level entry access (no elevator), common areas, laundry room, a kitchen and a telephone for local calling. Long-distance calls can be made with prior arrangement with staff. There is a front and back yard with a garden space and ventilated smoking shed. Common areas on each floor have a television, seating area, and outdoor access.
