Building Description

Kiwanis Lodge is a four-storey complex care building which is part of Kiwanis Village, a welcoming six acre campus of care providing a range of housing and care options.

Building Amenities

Building amenities include residents lounges for meals and recreation on each floor, hair salon, and several outdoor areas for socializing.

Neighbourhood/Community Amenities

Kiwanis Village is adjacent to NRGH and close to shopping and medical offices. Public transit stops at the entrance to the Village.

Philosophy of Care

The philosophy of care is based on a resident/family-centred approach.

Type of Accommodation

Each of the 75 private rooms are equipped with overhead ceiling lift and en suite bathroom.

Cost

Residents pay up to 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special Recreational Opportunities

Monthly Recreation calendars are posted in convenient locations and are on our website. Kiwanis Village recreation programs are further enhanced by the use of a bus equipped to take residents on community outings.

Kiwanis Village common areas are fully accessible to wheelchairs and walkers.

Motorized Scooter Policy

Scooters are permitted upon management's approval and must be parked in designated scooter parking areas only.

Pet Policy

Visiting pets are permitted in recognition of the benefit to the well-being of residents. Live-in pets are not permitted.

Smoking Policy

Kiwanis Village policy permits smoking of tobacco products or electric cigarettes by residents only in outdoor designated smoking areas. Visitors must smoke off-site.

Safety/Security Features

Kiwanis Lodge features a secured entrance and night-time monitoring by a security company.

Two guest suites are available for rental to accommodate overnight visits in another building within Kiwanis Village. Reservations are required.

During influenza season (typically December-March), to help protect patients from the flu, all visitors will be expected to wear a mask in our facilities if they have not had a flu shot. For more information, please read our Influenza Protection Policy.

Provincial policy requires all visitors to be informed:  "Violence, foul language and abusive behaviours are not acceptable. Verbal threats or acts of violence will not be tolerated and may result in removal from this facility and/or prosecution."
