Our 136-suite, two-level home is situated on spacious grounds with a secure landscaped courtyard, outside decks on the second level, and a covered entry for convenient drop-off and pick-up.
The building features many amenities, including dining rooms, TV lounges, activity rooms, a multipurpose room with kitchen facilities, quiet lounge spaces in each neighbourhood, and a hair salon.
All areas are wheelchair accessible with safety and security features throughout. Outdoor spaces include a large, landscaped courtyard with covered seating. Two smaller patios flank the front entry. Decks on the second level offer convenient outdoor space for those living on the second floor.
Community amenities are just steps away at South Parkway Plaza and Southgate Shopping Centre with coffee shops and restaurants, a grocery store, pharmacies, bus service, doctor and dental clinics, and many other services.
Beds in single occupancy rooms: 136
All suites are single occupancy with bedroom and three-piece bath consisting of a sink, toilet, and shower. The bedroom is furnished with an electric bed, bedside table with locking drawer, and tall wardrobe with two drawers at the base. All rooms have the capacity for a ceiling lift.
Residents pay 80% of their after-tax income up to a maximum rate. This covers the cost of food, cleaning, laundry, accommodation, and subsidized care. For more information on monthly cost and additional expenses, please see the Resident and Family Handbook and reach out to AgeCare Malaspina.
Therapeutic and recreational services include social gardening club, walking programs, strength and balance classes, bus outings to local areas of interest, bingo, games, arts & crafts, and baking.
We liaise with our community partners to provide therapy dog visits, spiritual services, and musical entertainment
All common areas, inside and out, are wheelchair accessible, as are the individual suites.
We are unable to accommodate motorized scooters.
Trained therapy dogs visit regularly. Family pet visits are welcome but must adhere to care home policy for the safety of residents and staff.
AgeCare is a non-smoking facility. Residents, staff, family, and visitors are not allowed to smoke anywhere on the property. Residents wishing to quit smoking will be supported with cessation information.
- All exits and stairwells are secured with a keypad entry/exit system
- Fire alarm and sprinkler systems are monitored for the safety of all
- Call alert system is available in resident bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas indoors and out
Residents enjoy visits and services from multiple denominations.
Parking is free but limited.
As this is the residents’ home, visiting hours are open to family and friends.

During viral respiratory illness season (typically December - March), we follow the Provincial Health Officer’s direction to help protect residents from respiratory illness.
Provincial policy requires all visitors to be informed: "Violence, foul language and abusive behaviours are not acceptable. Verbal threats or acts of violence will not be tolerated and may result in removal from this facility and/or prosecution.”
