Eden Gardens is a two-storey wood frame building located on Northfield Road. The building is 105.000 square feet located on five acres.
Administration and Day programs are located in the Arbutus building. Residences are located in the Balsam, Cypress and Douglas Fir buildings. Each first floor resident neighbourhood has its own secure garden. Each second floor resident neighbourhood has access to a solarium.
The infinity loop garden with water feature adds a unique dimension to the other gardens. Staff amenities, support services and maintenance/mechanical rooms are located in the basement.
The building contains 12 resident neighbourhoods comprised of 11 rooms each. Each neighbourhood has a dining room, active and passive lounge and window seats for external viewing.
The home is located 1.5 kms from Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) and is centrally located for easy access to most community amenities.

Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care.
Each resident has a private room. Each room has a bed, armoire, night table, chair, private 2 piece bathroom including a shower and overhead lift capabilities. Portable lifts are used where overhead lifts are not appropriate. Bathing is provided in the spa. There is a bistro with outdoor seating, gift shop and hair salon that is available to residents and visitors.
Residents pay up to 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.
Chaperoned bus excursions are provided as part of the Eden programs.
The home is fully wheelchair accessible. Basic wheelchairs are provided as per provincial policy.
Not permitted at this time.
Visiting pets are encouraged, provided they are vaccinated and well-behaved. Dogs are to be kept on a leash, and the owner cleans up if there are accidents. The home has resident cats, birds and fish.
Not permitted on premises except for residents that have passed a risk assessment.
