Clearview Medical Detox - Nanaimo

Clearview Detox is a withdrawal management service offered in a home-like setting in Nanaimo. This inpatient program is voluntary and provides service to all communities in the Island Health region.

Services provided

  • 24-hour acute withdrawal management from alcohol and other substances.
  • Group programming and relapse prevention planning.
  • Connection and referral to various community services and support with discharge planning.

How to access services

Self-refer by calling Access Central and completing a clinical assessment: 1-888-855-8824.

Referrals are also accepted from:

  • Family physicians, walk-in clinic physicians or nurse practitioners 
  • Island Health service providers, including clinicians, nurses, outreach workers, and through your local Mental Health and Substance Use team
  • Indigenous counsellors with First Nations Health Authority
  • Acute care staff (hospital-based physicians and nurses)

If your referral is accepted, you will be placed on the waitlist and contacted as we near your position in line.

Individuals referred to Clearview Detox must be able to move independently and manage their own basic self-care. Admissions are booked by medical priority and not necessarily by date of referral.
