New Graduate Transition Program (NGTP)
The NGTP provides new graduates from a post-secondary program in nursing (Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse) with the opportunity to enhance clinical preparation as well as consolidate theory with clinical skills.

Employed Student Nurse (ESN) Program
This is a provincial program that provides opportunities for Registered Nursing (RN) students to receive paid employment by working in supernumerary casual positions under the supervision of a RN.

Student Practice Education
Island Health provides a broad scope of learning opportunities, in collaboration with our academic partners, for students and practitioners from all health care disciplines.

Pharmacy Practice Residency Program
In affiliation with the University of British Columbia Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Island Health Pharmacy department is proud to offer a 52-week post-graduate residency program that offers experiential training specifically focused on the development and refinement of skills required for clinical pharmacy practice.

Co-op Students
In collaboration with universities and colleges in B.C. and across Canada, Island Health hires students for time limited co-op work term placements.

Federal and BC Government Student Loan Forgiveness Programs
If you plan to practice in a rural or remote community, you may be eligible for a student loan forgiveness program.

Health Match BC is a recruitment service funded by the Government of British Columbia that recruits physicians and helps recruit registered nurses and allied health professionals on behalf of British Columbia’s health care facilities.
