Your local hospital has satellite laboratories (specimen collection facilities) both inside each hospital and in the community where you can have your blood work done, or drop off samples.

All visits to an Island Health outpatient laboratory require a laboratory requisition from a physician or nurse practitioner.
To avoid potential delays at the lab, we strongly recommend that requisition forms be printed and brought as a hard copy when you attend the lab. Alternatively, requisitions can be emailed to the Island Health Requisition Repository by the physician or nurse practitioner. If the requisition was emailed directly to the patient, it is recommended that the requisition be printed and brought to the lab as a hard copy. If it is not possible to print the requisition, please speak with staff at the lab and they will provide instructions on how to email the requisition.
Island Health laboratories have policies that require us to ask for patient identification at the time of registration. Please note without this identification we are unable to provide laboratory services.
