How to begin

1. Check what you may need to pay

• Most QAOPS services have a fee. Appointments with a rehabilitation doctor, also called a physiatrist, are an exception.
• You are responsible for the cost unless a government program, insurance plan or another organization agrees to pay.

2. Ask for a cost estimate

• Contact the QAOPS team for an estimate. We can explain the expected cost and possible funding options.

3. Check if funding is available

Depending on your eligibility, funding may be available through:

• A provincial or federal government program
• First Nations Health Authority
• Veterans Affairs Canada
• Canadian Forces Health Services
• ICBC
• WorkSafeBC
• The War Amps or CHAMPS
• Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada
• Bear Essentials Program
• Extended health insurance
• Another funding organization

4. Ask us to request funding

We can send a cost estimate to your funding organization for approval. If the request is approved, we can bill the organization directly.

What happens next

We can begin making or ordering your device after funding is approved. We will contact you if you need another appointment.
