Meet with your care provider by video (BC Virtual Visit)

BC Virtual Visit lets you connect with your Island Health care provider by secure video from home. You can use your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Your care team will let you know if a virtual visit is right for you and will schedule the appointment for you.

When this may help

  • I have an appointment that can be done by video instead of in person.
  • I want to save travel time or avoid coming to a clinic or hospital.
  • I'm not feeling well enough to travel.
  • I live far from my care provider.

What you can do

With BC Virtual Visit, you can:

  • Meet with your care provider by secure video.
  • Talk, listen, and share information in real time.
  • Review symptoms, treatments, next steps, or follow-up plans.
  • Include a family member or support person (if you choose).

Your appointment will be as private and confidential as an in-person visit.

How to begin

  1. Your virtual visit must be arranged through your care provider or Island Health team.
  2. Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive an email with details about how to join.
  3. To get started, you need:
  • A personal email address.
  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera, microphone, and speaker.
