Island Health reschedules some immunization appointments due to extreme heat

Due to the extreme heat wave that is currently affecting British Columbia, Island Health is rebooking some COVID-19 immunization appointments in Langford and Comox.

Langford, Eagle Ridge: Although staff were able to immunize people until shortly after 1 p.m. at Eagle Ridge, Island Health made the decision to rebook all remaining appointments at Eagle Ridge today.

Comox, Glacier Gardens: Island Health made the decision to rebook all afternoon appointments at Glacier Gardens in Comox tomorrow, June 30, in addition to the appointments that were already rebooked today.

Everyone affected will be directly contacted and rebooked. We are working on solutions to create additional appointments to rebook people as quickly as possible.

We acknowledge this may be frustrating for some people and we ask for patience and understanding as we move through the effects of this extreme weather event.

The health and safety of our clients, staff and volunteers is a top priority for Island Health. Island Health will continue to carefully monitor the situation and conditions at all immunization clinics. Please continue to monitor islandhealth.ca and our social media for the latest updates.
