The purpose of this page is to inform visitors about active outbreaks at hospitals or long-term care facilities.

Active Outbreaks

The Active Outbreak List is updated daily, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. When an outbreak is declared over, the facility is removed from the list.

The list includes all hospitals or long term care facilities within Island Health that either fall under the Hospital Act or are licensed under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.

First monkeypox case confirmed in Island Health, risk to the general public is very low

One case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Island Health through laboratory testing at the BC Centre for Disease Control. The person resides in the south island. Island Health public health teams are conducting follow-up. The risk to the general public is very low.

Pay parking resumes March 4, 2022
