Island Health is urging people to use strategies to stay safer when using drugs. Due to the toxic drug supply, there is currently an increase in overdoses across the Island. Island Health has issued overdose advisories for Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox Valley and Campbell River.

Island Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at Longlake Chateau independent living facility in Nanaimo. With the implementation of comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to COVID-19, there are no longer any COVID-19 cases related to the outbreak at the facility.
