Public health services in Tofino and Ucluelet are now in new locations.
In Ucluelet, public health services will be provided at the Ucluelet Medical Centre at 2094 Peninsula Road. Clients can access the clinic through the same entrance as Island Health Laboratory Services.
In Tofino, services have moved to Tofino General Hospital. The clinic is located in room 23 in the basement and can be accessed from either the laboratory or physio entrances. Clients arriving at the clinic for appointments are asked to call 250-725-4020 when they arrive and a staff member will let them in.
Clients will continue to receive services in their preferred community and will not need to travel between Ucluelet and Tofino for care.
The same appointment-based public health services will continue to be available in both communities from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
In Tofino, the move makes room for renovations for the community’s planned sobering and assessment centre.
