For Island Health employees, staff, and physicians. Reset your password, unlock your account, or update security questions. Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and register for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR).

Set up account security first

You must set up:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

These are required before using any self-service options.

Self-Service Options

Once you set up account security (MFA and SSPR), you can manage these tasks yourself:

Go to aka.ms/sspr

Select I forgot my password, answer your security questions, verify with MFA, and follow the prompts.

Select I know my password, but still can't sign in, answer your security questions, verify with MFA, and follow the prompts.

Sign in, verify with MFA, go to the Security info tab to manage your security questions.

Set up account security

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required when signing in from home or off-site.
  • Register for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) to reset or unlock your password yourself - no need to submit a request to the IMIT Service Desk.

Have a device or Temporary Access Pass (TAP)?

Go to mfasetup.islandhealth.ca

Sign in, register your device, create five security questions, keep your device ready for home or off-site login.

  • All Island Health employees.
  • Works for new and existing accounts once MFA is set up.
  • You forget your Windows password.
  • Your account is locked after too many incorrect password attempts.
  • SSPR requires your MFA device.
  • If it’s not with you, you cannot use SSPR to set up or reset your password.
  1. Contact the IMIT Service Desk to reset your Windows password.
  2. After resetting, follow How to Change Your Security Questions and Answers to delete and recreate them.
  1. Use your MFA device (or personal device) and follow How to Use SSPR to Reset Your Password.
  2. After resetting your password, go on-site and connect via Ethernet or Island Health Wi-Fi.
  3. Log in using your new Windows password.
