People on the Saanich Peninsula will benefit from expanded hours at Island Health’s re-named Peninsula Primary Care Access Clinic, previously known as the Peninsula After Hours Primary Care Clinic.
Beginning on February 18, clinic hours for same day booked appointments will be expanded to Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., including statutory holidays. Appointments can also be booked on Saturdays between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The clinic will remain closed on Sundays. All appointments must be booked on the day of the appointment; walk-ins are not possible.
Patients will continue to call 1-833-688-8722 to book an appointment. Patients who are attached to primary care provider or clinic are encouraged to see their physician or nurse practitioner instead.
The Peninsula Primary Care Access Clinic is for people who need non-emergency medical care for ailments such as:
- minor injuries
- high fever, cough and colds
- cuts, wounds or skin conditions, rashes
- chest, ear or bladder infections
- back pain
- sprains and strains
- headaches
In addition, registered nurses at the clinic can offer a variety of primary care services such as wound care, suture removal, and chronic disease and lifestyle management.
The clinic location at the Peninsula Health Unit at 2170 Mt. Newton Cross Road in Saanichton adjacent to Saanich Peninsula Hospital will remain the same.
