Island Health moves Comox COVID-19 immunization appointments to Florence Filberg Centre

Due to the challenges faced at Glacier Gardens during the recent heat wave, Island Health is relocating the Comox COVID-19 immunization clinic to the air-conditioned Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay from July 1-5.

All appointments booked on those dates will occur at the Florence Filberg Centre at 411 Anderton Avenue in Courtenay, 9 kilometres from Glacier Gardens.

Everyone affected will be directly contacted and notified. Anyone who receives a notification instructing them to go to Glacier Gardens between July 1 and 5 should go to the Florence Filberg Centre instead. No immunizations will occur at Glacier Gardens during this time.

We acknowledge this may be frustrating for some people and we ask for patience and understanding as we move through the effects of this extreme weather event and plan to continue immunizations through the summer. We also want to acknowledge and thank our staff and volunteers for continuing to adapt during these recent challenges.

The health and safety of our clients, staff and volunteers is a top priority for Island Health. Island Health will continue to carefully monitor the situation and conditions at all immunization clinics. Please continue to monitor our website and our social media for the latest updates.
