Diabetes Island Health

Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects a growing number of North Americans. It is a health condition in which the body doesn’t make enough insulin, or cannot properly use the insulin it makes.

This results in a higher than normal blood sugar. Diabetes can be managed with healthy eating, physical activity, medication and stress management.

How can we help?

Our Diabetes Education Centres provide information and support to people living with diabetes and their families.
