Temporary relocation of main entrance to ambulatory care building at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

People attending the ambulatory care building at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) should be aware of the temporary relocation of the main entrance to the building.

The main entrance to ambulatory care will be closed until further notice starting on Monday, November 24, as construction work on the adjacent new cancer centre will make the main entrance inaccessible.

During this time, all foot traffic will be redirected to an alternate entrance located at the back of the building. Parking stalls to the right of the ambulatory care building will be reserved for ambulatory care patients and a turnaround area for vehicles dropping patients off will be accessible near the temporary entrance.

Signage will be in place to redirect all vehicles and foot traffic.

Patients are advised to allow for extra time when coming to their appointments. Wheelchairs will be available inside the temporary entrance for those who need them.
