Eye Health Services are offered at the following hospitals

Royal Jubilee Hospital Clinic 5 and Clinic 6

Check-in Procedure

Go directly to the Clinic (see Map to Clinic 5 and 6) and check-in with the Unit Clerk. You do not need to stop at the admitting desk at the entrance to the hospital.

Check-in Time

Usually 1 hour before the procedure. Your doctor will tell you what time to check-in.

Victoria General Hospital

Check-in Procedure

Enter through the main doors of the Victoria General Hospital. Stop at the main desk to check in. You will be directed where to go from there. 

Check-in Time

Usually 90 minutes before the procedure. Your doctor will tell you what time to check-in.

Saanich Peninsula Hospital

Check-in Procedure

Enter through the main doors of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital. If told to arrive before 8:00 AM, check-in at the Emergency Department; if told to arrive after 8:00 AM, check-in in at the Surgical Daycare Unit.

60 minutes before the procedure. Your doctor will tell you what time to check-in.

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

Check-in Procedure

Enter through the Ambulatory Care entrance of the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Stop at the admitting desk to check in. You will be directed where to go from there. 

Check-in Time

Usually between 60 - 90 minutes before the procedure. Your doctor will tell you what time to check-in.

Cowichan District Hospital

Check-in Procedure

Enter through the main doors of the Cowichan District Hospital. Stop at the main desk to check in. You will be directed where to go from there. 

Check-in Time

90 minutes before the procedure. The hospital will phone you between 12:00 - 2:00 PM the day before surgery to tell you what time to check-in.


North Island Hospital - Comox Valley

Check-in Procedure

Enter through the main doors of the North Island Hospital - Comox Valley. Stop at the main desk to check in. You will be directed where to go from there. 

Check-in Time

Usually 60 minutes before the procedure. Please ask your doctor what time you are expected to check-in.


Eye surgery is also offered at private eye care centres. Ask your family doctor or ophthalmologist for more information about this option.
