Building Description
A two-level building with elevator designed like an apartment-style building with a common dining area and lounge. Building is built to look like a residential house from the street. Large surrounding grounds. Backyard has a full patio and garden with raised beds. Recently updated building is located in Saanich close to Uptown shopping mall.
Building Amenities
Building has one public multi-purpose lounge, a central dining room that is used as a multi-purpose room for recreational activities and beautiful backyard patio and garden.
Facility-Specific Restrictions
On admission must be between the ages of 19 and 55 years.

Harriet House is centrally located and is very close to many public access shopping and recreation. Near Uptown, Mayfair, and Tillicum shopping malls, Silver City Movie Theatre, TD bank, Save-on-Foods grocery store, Pearkes Arena, Gorge Walkway, Lochside Trail, Swan Lake, public library.

Special Recreational Opportunities
Recreation program is led by a Recreation Therapist and offers a wide range of recreational opportunities from in-house entertainment to full community integration. Group and individual programming is provided.

Motorized Scooter Policy
Motorized wheel chairs and scooters are not permitted in Harriet House.
Pet Policy
Supports a pet visitation program. No residential pets are permitted.
Smoking Policy
Residents may smoke outside in designated areas.
Safety/Security Features
Harriet House is staffed 16 hours a day and is a secure building. Residents can come and go freely throughout the day by using a key to let themselves in.
Visiting Information
Visitors are encouraged to come in and visit with their friend or family member as well as take them out into the community. Overnight guests are permitted with prior arrangement.
Regular community functions are held including two larger community events in the summer and at Christmas time.
