This page contains information on current COVID-19 outbreaks. It is updated when the Island Health region experiences a reportable outbreak.
- Island Health does not comment on or confirm specific details about individual cases of COVID-19.
- Island Health’s Public Health team employs contact tracing processes to notify potentially close contact exposure to a confirmed case. Public notifications are only issued if there are high-risk contacts who cannot be identified. Outbreaks are declared in settings such as health facilities. Outbreaks and notifications are posted on our website.
- COVID-19 is present across the Island Health region. The best defence is immunization. Please continue with preventative measures, such as frequent hand washing, keeping two metres from people outside your household, wearing a mask in indoor public spaces, and staying home when sick.
For information on schools, please see our COVID-19 In Schools page.
Workplace closures are listed on our Workplace Closures page.

Data shows that our public health practices are working. Recently identified individuals with COVID-19 are required to self-isolate; therefore, the risk to the community remains low. COVID-19 is still in our communities. Please continue with preventative measures, such as frequent hand washing, keeping two metres from people outside your household, wearing a mask in indoor public spaces if not fully immunized, and staying home when sick.
Island Health’s COVID-19 data dashboard breaks down North, Central and South Island case counts and includes exposure history and other important information. We use the same data as provided to BCCDC, and are in line with daily provincial updates unless otherwise stated. It is updated each weekday after 4 p.m. Our dashboard is updated each weekday after 4 p.m.
The results from BCCDCs 2020 Speak Survey can be found here and will be updated with Speak2 survey results.
