Data and COVID-19 Outbreaks in Island Health facilities

This page contains information on current COVID-19 outbreaks. It is updated when the Island Health region experiences a reportable outbreak.

  • Island Health does not comment on or confirm specific details about individual cases of COVID-19.
  • Outbreaks are declared in settings such as health facilities, and are posted on our website.

For information on schools, please see our COVID-19 In Schools page.

Current data

With the roll out of rapid testing and the evolution of case and contact management to prioritize high-risk populations, active case information broken down by Health Service Delivery Area within Island Health is no longer reflective of the population as a whole.

As such, Island Health has discontinued posting our own COVID-19 dashboard. As ever, we continue to report all relevant case information to the BCCDC to inform their data reports.

The BC Centre for Disease Control is the source of truth for comprehensive COVID-related data for all health authorities, including Island Health. On the BC COVID-19 Data page you will find current COVID-19 case counts, case trends, vaccination coverage, cases by Local Health Area, and more.
