Voices in Motion (ViM) is an intergenerational choir for community-dwelling people living with memory loss and their family caregivers in Victoria, BC. It is a partnership between a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the University of Victoria, students at St. Andrews High School and Pacific Christian School, and Island Health (community partner).
Researchers are exploring the impact of participation in a choir by persons living with dementia (PwD) and their caregivers . Both caregivers and the persons with dementia attend the choir together. Our research team is interested in hearing about participant experiences of the choir, including reasons for participation, how it affects quality of life and well-being and what impact it may have on social networks with others.
Join them for one of two holiday concerts.
