M.J. is a seasoned professional whose background spans 35 years in senior management. As chief executive officer of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC (CHBA BC), M.J.’s influence is seen in education, training, apprenticeship, green building technologies, codes and compliances.
Her family run business presently serves as senior consultant to businesses in the technology, health, resource and home building industries.
M.J. is an experienced board member exhibiting in-depth knowledge of board governance, strategic planning, leadership, audit and finance.
At present M.J. serves as director, Audit Committee Chair and Governance Committee member for the Industry Training Authority (ITA); Governor and Tributes Committee Chair for the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT); Director, Small Business Round Table (SBRT); Director, Technology Education & Career Council, (TECC) and member of several advisory councils including the building committee at her church.
M.J. and her husband Bill reside in Sooke on Vancouver Island.
M.J. Whitemarsh was first appointed to the Board of Island Health on June 19, 2016. Her current term expires on July 31, 2020.
